I am looking to buy a 2nd home in ibiza, but want an apartment that can be rented out part time to help cover costs, can you advise what the rules are around renting. I am guessing that there needs to be a rental licence, and are they restricted to certain areas. Advice would be appreciate as I am just starting my search

Hi, tourist rental licences are fixed in number. It’s easier to buy a place with a licence already granted that obtain a new one.
Apartments are never allowed to be rented and are never granted licenses but many operate regardless, just look at Airbnb.
If however, you rent to locals then there is no problem. Rental prices are still relatively high even for long term rentals
